Area Manager Cumbria

We are recruiting for an Area Manager to be based out of our Penrith depot. Aptus continues its successful expansion, bringing our streamlined multi utility services to developments across the region.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Area Manager will report direct to the North West Regional Manager and the role is to lead operational construction activity within the Cumbria area and ensure that business objectives are met efficiently

Key Responsibilities

Manage, guide and mentor a team of project managers within the area delivering portfolios of MU projects.
Manage the stores function to ensure appropriate stock levels are available and delivery of materials enables business delivery.
Oversee pre-construction activities in planning stages of new awards, liaise with estimating and design team to ensure full understanding of projects and attend project handover meetings.
Communicate with developer contract managers/ technical engineers pre and during works on project.
Produce construction plan for developments, to enable timely installation, connection and commission of all required utilities to meet client requirements.
Observe programme meetings and advise on changes as required, notifying PMs of any changes.
Drive productivity of PMs and teams for better commercial performance, through good planning and control of works.
Demonstrate good practice of SHEQ, Operations, Delivery of Business and Customer excellence within region.
Complete audit schedule as required and monitor PMs delivery of same.
Maintain the professional image and values of the Company and uphold policies in line with the Quality Management System and the Health, Safety and Environmental Systems.
Liaison with the commercial team to deliver projects most cost effectively but within specification.
Prepare with PMs for monthly scheme reviews and ensure attendance.
Assist Regional Manager with quarterly forecasting to enable business to accurately forward plan.

Experience and Attributes Required

Have a good understanding of the multi utility business processes and procedures
Have some level of management experience in an operational role
Be a good communicator at all levels
Have the drive to improve business process delivery for the benefit of the client and business performance
Demonstrate good commercial awareness
