Lisa Kerford

Managing Director
Lisa has over twenty-five years’ experience working in the electricity and multi-utilities industries. As Managing Director, she holds responsibility for management decisions within the Aptus Utilities directorate and setting company policy and strategy. She is responsible for the implementation of multi-utility and street lighting installation programmes on all commercial, industrial and residential projects for Aptus Utilities across the UK. Her role demands ensuring works are delivered to specification, timescales, within budget and meeting stringent health and safety standards. This role requires an analytical and innovative approach, liaising with a wide client base including housebuilders, multinational developers, blue-chip FTSE 100 companies, local authorities and housing associations; internally she works closely with the directorate to formulate and apply working procedures and business strategy to ensure that the Company meets its performance objectives. Lisa was previously Operations Director at Aptus Utilities and has been instrumental in developing and streamlining processes. She spent four years at Bethell Power Services before that, managing the major projects team where she delivered projects ranging from 11kV underground cable installation to 132kV Overhead and Underground component projects.

Natasha Clarke

Support Services Director
Natasha Clarke heads up the support services within the business and her role is to ensure the commercial and operational business arms can operate efficiently by providing all services to support their functions. Natasha has responsibility for overseeing Procurement and Logistics, which includes negotiations with suppliers, the smooth running of the head office and three additional depots, along with a fleet of over 80 vehicles. She is also responsible for the administration within the business, as well as the IT. Human Resources also falls under Natasha’s remit and she has assisted in the training and development of a number of key members of staff and has also ensured a number of Business Administration Apprentices have successfully obtained their qualifications. As Natasha has been at Aptus Utilities almost since the start of the business, she has experienced the exponential business growth and is currently working to develop a bespoke system to assist with streamlining a number of labour-intensive processes within the business. Natasha started at Aptus Utilities in January 2011, when she joined the team from Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions. She has completed an MBA, whilst at Aptus Utilities, which further enhances her business knowledge.

Mark Clegg

Operations Director
Mark has twenty years’ experience in multi-utility industries. As Operations Director he oversees the continual provision of delivery on our multi-utility, street lighting and major project schemes throughout the UK. Mark is responsible for forecasting the upcoming workload and ensuring we have resources available to meet our standards of service and deliver projects safely, on time and in the budget. Prior to joining Aptus as Operations Manager, Mark worked at Scottish Power Energy Networks in both construction and project management roles.

Niall Gargan

Commercial Director
Niall joined the business in July 2017 and is responsible for the commercial function within the business from Estimating to Final Account of all works in relation to all associated costs and value. The role involves the management of all projects commercially and developing close working relationships with clients in order to ensure Aptus provides the best value at all times. He believes this is achieved through an open, honest and collaborative approach as Aptus takes great pride in achieving growth through repeat business and recommendations. Niall has 18 years’ experience in the Utilities and Construction industry and has worked on large civil engineering projects and utility frameworks from Scotland to London holding senior management positions. He has a good working knowledge of all utilities and all forms of contract including client bespoke and partnering arrangements.

Ian Winn

Group Finance Director
Ian joined the business in July 2020. He has over 20 years’ board experience as a Finance Director in both privately owned and listed businesses. Ian is responsible for the Finance function, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the business’ financial results, budgetary and financial planning, treasury, statutory and compliance reporting, liaison and management of key financial stakeholders and provision of further analysis and commercial insights into business activities. Ian is a qualified chartered accountant who has operated at board level in a number of high growth business-to-business service providers including financial services, IT services, property letting and management services and contracting. Most recently Ian was the CFO of an acquisitive, fast-growing holiday letting agency where he led the acquisition and finance functions as well as a successful trade sale to the UK’s largest operator in that field.

Andrew Reay

Non-Executive Director

Andrew has worked in the industry for over 25 years he has extensive knowledge of the utilities sector within the Gas, Water, Electric and BT disciplines and adopts a hands-on approach ensuring all contracts are delivered to customer expectations, within budget and within the programme while maintaining high levels of health, safety and quality.

Jonathan Holden

Non-Executive Director

Jonathan has over 25 years’ knowledge of the utility industry and has gained strong commercial, financial and change management skills working for both client and contracting organisations.

Martin Donnachie

Chairman

Martin has a successful track record of leading businesses in the utility connections, house building and general construction sectors. Martin is a Chartered Accountant and in his early career, he undertook a number of senior finance roles.
