Finance Administration Assistant

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Due to continued expansion Aptus Utilities is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Financial Administration Assistant to provide support to the Finance Department and/or Manager. Duties will be varied and challenging. Previous experience is desirable however, full training will be provided. More important is attention to detail, an efficient and methodical approach with a flexible attitude.

What you will be doing:

  • Form part of a team with the financial administration staff
  • Process orders from Project Managers, following the approved order process procedures
  • Process invoices following approved procedures
  • Processing weekly payments when required
  • Complete month end transfers via Sage Job Costing
  • Carry out supplier statement reconciliations
  • Assist in the set-up of new suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Holiday cover posting subcontractor invoices
  • Holiday cover for Cash allocation
  • Ad hoc analysis and duties as directed by the team manager
  • Any other finance duties as required

What we ask from you:

  • Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills – GCSE grade 5-9 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Working knowledge of computerised accounts system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel – Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to work within timescales and to deadlines
  • Efficient and methodical approach to time and task management
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounts 200 or similar accounting package
  • Knowledge of Sage Job Costing or knowledge of contract costing
