Overall Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a Trainee Project Manager to join our team in the Northwest or Yorkshire area, to provide support and assistance to the Project Managers and Project Delivery Managers on a daily basis to progress into a competent and experienced Project Manager.
What you will be doing:
As a Trainee Project Manager, you will receive support and training whilst assisting with:
- Support the management of a portfolio of schemes within a designated geographical area.
- Assist with the coordination of site activities from pre-start through to project completion.
- Attend pre-start meetings with developers and site agents, helping to communicate requirements to operational teams.
- Support pre-vetting activities for plots and mains installations.
- Build effective working relationships with developers, site agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with ordering materials in line with approved designs and project requirements.
- Support the arrangement of plant, road opening notices, and Traffic Management for schemes.
- Monitor progress of direct labour and subcontractors on site under the guidance of senior project managers.
- Assist with site quality inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Support with measures of work (on site) and complete and submit track sheets.
- Ensure teams complete as-laid records, check and return packs to CAD, and help to collate operational paperwork for submission to asset owners.
- Liaise with water, gas, and electricity departments to help coordinate connections and jointing activities.
- Assist in the investigation and close-out of NCRs and incident reports within agreed timescales.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Learn and develop the skills required to effectively manage projects, resources, costs, quality, and customer relationships.
