Electric Jointer (LV/HV)

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Aptus Utilities are looking for skilled and motivated LV/HV Cable Jointers to join our expanding team working on underground power networks based in the Cumbria area. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a business delivering high-quality work across DNO and IDNO networks, where safety, teamwork, and expertise are at the forefront.

What you will be doing:

• Carrying out LV live and dead jointing
• Completing mains & service jointing and cable terminations
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Supporting LV testing and commissioning activities
• Undertaking HV jointing and terminations up to 11kV (where qualified)
• Installing XLPE, EPR & PILC joints using heat/cold shrink techniques
• Supporting new connections and network upgrades
• Replacing fuses and cut-outs (live and dead)
• Supporting site setup, excavations, and safety operations
• Working as part of a team and stepping up as Safety Mate when required

What we ask from you:

• Proven experience in LV/HV cable jointing (DNO/IDNO preferred)
• Strong competence in LV live jointing (mandatory)
• HV experience up to 11kV (preferred)
• A full UK driving licence
• A proactive approach to working outdoors and within site environments
• You take safety seriously and follow procedures
• Comfortable working independently or within a team
• Clear and confident communicator

Desirable (but not essential)

• NRSWA (SLG) certification
• First Aid training
• Confined Space qualification
• Cable ID / spiking authorisation
• Substation access approval
