Overall Purpose of the Role:
To lead and optimise the organisation’s procurement and inventory functions by driving cost efficiency, ensuring supply continuity, and maximising commercial value. The role is responsible for developing strategic sourcing approaches, strengthening supplier performance, and implementing robust procurement and stock control processes that support operational delivery and financial objectives. Working closely with key stakeholders, the Procurement Manager ensures effective spend management, governance, and continuous improvement across all purchasing and inventory activities.
What you will be doing:
Procurement & Cost Management-
- Analyse company spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and purchasing inefficiencies.
- Source materials, equipment and services to achieve best value while maintaining required quality and operational standards. Leading supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable commercial terms and rebate opportunities.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends and supply risks to maximise commercial advantage and supply continuity.
- Develop and implement spend analytics to improve procurement visibility, budgeting and forecasting.
Supplier Management & Commercial Performance-
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support performance and service reliability.
- Review supplier performance against agreed terms.
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and improved commercial leverage.
Stock Control & Inventory Management-
- Manage inventory levels across warehouses, vehicles and project allocations to ensure operational and cost efficiency.
- Forecast and replenish stock in line with operational demand and usage trends. Working with operations to forecast stock levels in line with upcoming activity.
- Support the business to understand our optimal stock holding to reduce excess inventory, stock shortages and working capital. Implementing stock control processes to minimise waste and ageing stock.
Governance & Process Improvement-
- Review procurement policies and approval workflows to ensure compliance and control.
- Identify and implement process improvements across procurement and inventory functions where necessary.
- Support operational functions to manage project spend to budget.
