Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Streetlighting Manager is a UK wide role with responsibility for the overall management, supervision, and delivery of streetlighting operations, ensuring all contractual, safety, and quality requirements are met. The role involves managing Supervisors, leading field teams, coordinating resources, maintaining compliance, and acting as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
What you will be doing:
- Manage day-to-day streetlighting operations, ensuring all deadlines and contractual requirements are consistently met.
- Lead, supervise, and support the Streetlighting team, including staff planning, performance, training and coordination with subcontractors.
- Monitor work planning schedule to ensure efficient delivery and that client expectations are met.
- Act as an escalation point of contact for clients, attend meetings and maintain strong professional client relationships.
- Ensure departmental full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures, both on and off site.
- Oversee a site audit regime and quality inspections on completed work to maintain high standards.
- Oversee testing, certification, and completion of all electrical works, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Ensure vehicles, plant, and depot stock are maintained to required standards.
- Ability to advise installation, maintenance, and fault-finding activities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Undertake duties as and when required, including out of hours call outs and weekend work when necessary.
- Interaction with all relevant Aptus departments, SLT and directors when required
What we ask from you:
- Proven experience in streetlighting (civils) or electrical infrastructure (ideally in a supervisory/management role)
- Qualified to BS7671:2018 and hold inspection & Testing (2394 & 2395) and NRSWA.
- Ability to visually identify lanterns and components.
- Ability to read & understand working drawings and interpret the requirement.
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Performance driven to ensure contractual timelines are met and schemes delivered on time and to commercial budget.
- Ability to understand and implement Risk Assessments and method statements
- Flexible in working hours and to be available when needed – including some weekends
- IT literate with the ability to populate spreadsheets.
- Full UK driving licence
This role will be permanent/full time.
