Aptus 2023 Review

As 2023 draws to a close we’d like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! At Aptus we look back on 2023 fondly as we recorded another strong year for our business, in which we welcomed new colleagues, saw our first Academy members graduate and honoured several team members for their 10 years’ service. We were delighted to see so many of you attend the Aptus Family Fun Day and Christmas Party!

This year also saw our team come together for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July, raising over £4,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice – thanks to Adrian Cunningham and Eleanor Smith for all their hard work in organising the event, and to everyone who took part and supported us! Thanks also to organisers Tom and Alfie and ‘Aptus United’ for their part in the historic Lancashire football tournament the Orphanage Cup, raising funds for Child Action Northwest.

Christmas also saw our fantastic team donate generously to Save the Children UK on Christmas Jumper Day, as well as contributing a stack of toys to Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal.

In 2023, we were thrilled to gain a number of accreditations including Real Living Wage Employer status and Gold Membership of The 5% Club as part of our ongoing commitment to support colleagues and the professional development of our team.

Going into 2024 sustainability is at the forefront of our goals as we aim to build on the progress we have made by continuing to work with our partners to deliver EV charging infrastructure across the UK and support developers with the transition from traditional heat supplies to fossil-free alternatives.

We’re proud to have been recognised as ESG Excellent by Sustainable Advantage and have a clear strategy to further enhance performance across all areas of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework.

Maintaining our position as a leading industry model for health and safety, we were also delighted to secure our fourth back-to-back gold health and safety award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Our reputation for first class multi-utility services continues to grow and we were proud to celebrate 5 Years in the Midlands in the summer, with our Burntwood Depot going from strength-to-strength – and we are excited to see what 2024 has in store for all our regional teams!

We have invested significantly in MHFA England® Mental Health First Aiders, and will continue to offer this training in 2024, as well as highlighting the incredible work of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity in our efforts to raise mental health awareness and tackle the issues in our industry.

As we bid 2023 farewell, we look to the future with optimism with plenty of new projects in the pipeline and exciting plans for growth!

Thank you to all our colleagues and to everyone who has supported us throughout the year, here’s to a healthy, happy and peaceful 2024!
