EWC Ltd have been working with Aptus on our waste management strategy and helping us to significantly reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill. We had a quick Q&A with Operations Director Gareth Marshall to learn more about their total waste management solutions.
EWC is a Total Waste Management company specialising in waste handling equipment. We provide waste and recycling solutions for companies throughout the UK.
Based in Knowsley, Merseyside EWC has been trading since 2003.
EWC recognised early on that the waste management sector has a huge part to play in reducing carbon emissions and providing a sustainable future for all industries. We have been at the forefront of waste compaction since we started in 2003, introducing the transport reducing model to many Local Authorities, hotel chains, hospitals and manufacturers. Over the last few years, we have been running projects with our clients to ensure they become ‘Zero to Landfill’ and green champions ensuring a sustainable and cost-efficient solution for years to come.
EWC is a “one stop shop” where everything we provide is ‘inhouse’. We can provide waste handling equipment, staff, transport, disposal and marketing of recyclable materials for all our clients. At our Knowsley site we have our own recycling facility, engineering workshop, transport depot and administration function.
From the initial waste audit, we pride ourselves on being able to adapt our services to the customers’ requirements. This may mean an adaption to a piece of waste machinery to ensure it meets the site’s requirements by one of our qualified engineers or sourcing an outlet for an unusual waste stream. We always aim to deliver what is best for the customer and not what is best for EWC.
As a company, we are lucky that our managing director and operations director have over 50 years of waste experience between them. Building a network of partners in the industry throughout the UK allows us to use this network to source alternative options as and when customers’ requirements change.
Our aim is to become the foremost local waste solution provider in the area as well as building strong relationships with like-minded businesses to ensure our national capabilities are strengthened. We are also aiming to ensure all our clients are Zero to Landfill in the next two years which will, in turn, help us to become Carbon Net Zero by 2025.
As a business we believe that we share a lot of common ground with the utilities sector. We both have a huge responsibility in terms of ensuring businesses and local authorities are offered sustainable solutions that will ensure their continued growth and future ambitions are exceeded.
