Another record-breaking year for fast-growing Aptus

At Aptus Utilities we are delighted to announce another record-breaking year to 31st March 2019. The company has had excellent year of growth, both in terms of turnover and profit. Turnover has increased by almost a quarter, ahead of the market growth, whilst maintaining the gross profit margin.

Company growth across all sectors

Company growth has been across all sectors of the business and includes increased work from existing and new customers. The customer base has also grown significantly with the addition of 68 new clients across the year, resulting in an exceptionally strong pipeline of secured work.

Whilst the stronghold of the business remains in the North West, the business has continued to develop its presence in the North East and the Midlands, and we expect to see significant growth in these areas over the coming years. The company has established a depot in the Midlands to support the growth in that region, which complements depots in Leyland, Penrith and Follingsby.

Aptus Utilities established a new Head Office in Bolton in May 2018, which has sufficient capacity to absorb the increase in staff planned to affect the company’s growth plans over the coming years. The company’s success has been recognised by a number of awarding bodies, including the Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 and the LSEG’s “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain”.

Investing in people

The company has continued to invest in staff to ensure that it can continue to meet the demands of such a rapidly growing business. It is committed to its apprentice scheme, and is proud to have won North West SME Employer of the Year in recognition of this commitment at the National Apprenticeship Awards. We are particularly proud of being able to attract young people into the industry at a time when it faces a skills shortage.
