Fourth year for Aptus in Greater Manchester Fastest 50

Aptus Utilities has today (29th April) been named in the Greater Manchester Fastest 50 league table for a fourth consecutive year.

The list, compiled by law firm Ward Hadaway and backed by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the University of Salford Business School, highlights and celebrates the profitable, privately-owned companies in the region which have seen the biggest average turnover growth in the last three years.

A year of momentous growth

Aptus Utilities has appeared in the table annually since 2016 and this year’s Fastest 50 achievement caps off another momentous year of growth for the company.

In 2018 Aptus signed a 10 year lease on new Bolton headquarters, quadrupling our office space in anticipation of significant regional expansion. Following this, we launched a company base at Burntwood in Staffordshire – adding to three existing depots in Leyland, Penrith and Gateshead and strengthening our Midlands operations.

In September the company won a major award for its commitment to recruiting and developing apprentices. With apprentices making up around 16 per cent of the workforce, Aptus was announced North West SME Employer of the Year at the National Apprenticeship Awards regional ceremony in Manchester.

Aptus Utilities celebrated a ninth anniversary this March and announced more than £80million in forward orders giving employees, construction clients and partners confidence in our business strategy and ability to deliver on our future commitments during the current period of Brexit-induced economic uncertainty.

Managing Director Lisa Kerford commented: “We’re very pleased to have made the Ward Hadaway Greater Manchester Fastest 50 list for a fourth successive year. The news confirms Aptus Utilities’ position as the North West’s leading multi utility provider and is indicative of the resilience of our model in an increasingly competitive sector, not to mention the difficult economic climate.”

“Since 2016 we have been working hard to fulfil an ambitious programme of regional expansion, which has presented new challenges in terms of the way we work with developers, local authorities and distribution network operators. This makes the news announced today all the more positive, reaffirming the success of our model which we are focused on delivering to the same high standards in the Midlands and North East of the country.”

Aptus will find out where the company ranks in the Fastest 50 later this month. At a special ceremony in Manchester on Friday 10th May, awards will be presented to the fastest growing small, medium and large businesses with one of the three winners going on to be crowned the overall fastest growing business for 2019.
