Aptus awarded Gold Membership by The 5% Club

We’re delighted to announce that Aptus has been awarded ‘Gold Membership’ by The 5% Club in its annual Employer Audit Scheme.

The award recognises our significant contribution to the continued development of all our employees through ‘earn and learn’ schemes such as apprenticeships, graduate training schemes and student placements.

The 5% Club is a UK-wide movement of more than 900 member companies with over 1.6 million employees, of whom more than 101,000 are in ‘earn and learn’ schemes.

The Employer Audit is a unique benchmarking scheme which validates the employers’ activities, explores their future plans and commitments, as well as examining their approaches to quality, social mobility, diversity and inclusion.

The awards were handed to employers during an online symposium on Thursday 9th November. From an impressive list of 180 members Aptus was one of 120 employers to have met the Gold Standard. To achieve this Aptus had to have a minimum of 5% of its workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions – a target we have well-surpassed with more than 10% of our workforce in this category.

The accreditation recognises the efforts of all those employers who invest in their workforce through offering diverse workplace learning schemes, and demonstrates how these companies are all contributing to the future of skills in the UK economy.

Natasha Clarke, People Director, said

“We are delighted to have been awarded Gold Membership in The 5% Club’s annual Employer Audit Scheme and recognised for our commitment alongside others in our industry. This shows the collective drive to engage young people in the exciting career opportunities the construction and utilities industries have to offer and the level of investment in skills and training.

“At Aptus we are proud to have won awards for our apprenticeships and training schemes. The success of our Academy will ensure we continue to address skills shortages, while a clear Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework will support us to grow a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects our community and helps us continue to build on this success.”
