BACK-TO-BACK ROSPA GOLD FOR APTUS

2021 Gold AwardWe’re delighted to announce that Aptus Utilities has been awarded Gold by RoSPA for demonstrating high health and safety standards in the workplace based on our performance in 2020.

This the second consecutive year we have achieved this accolade and it is a credit to the whole team for their collective effort to drive continual improvements in health and safety across the business.

The RoSPA Awards are sponsored by NEBOSH and are one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, with almost 2000 entries every year and a reach of over seven million employees.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Health & Safety Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice, and for driving up standards setting new safety benchmarks for organisations across the world.

In 2020, while negotiating the challenges presented by the pandemic, Aptus strengthened existing robust practices to safeguard operations and implemented new measures to ensure staff were fully supported across a range of different working environments.

This included a Health & Wellbeing Campaign in which mental health was a key focus – and we have continued to invest in this area with 18 members of staff either fully trained or booked on courses with MHFA England to train as Mental Health First Aiders.

Safety Values and Recognition & Rewards Scheme

We also launched our Safety Values and Recognition & Rewards Scheme which reinforces messages around health and safety and encourages employees to proactively engage in reporting incidents and find innovative solutions. This has seen us consistently attain excellent performance in health and safety and instils an ethos that will enable Aptus to maintain this reputation as the company grows.

These initiatives were launched in line with a new comprehensive Health and Safety strategy set out by the Managing Director and board members to support the company’s five-year plan to double the size of the business and significantly increase personnel.

On receiving the RoSPA Gold Award, HSQE Manager Delicia Maxwell said: “The RoSPA Award entry process is extremely rigorous involving detailed scrutiny of our processes and procedures for implementing, monitoring and measuring health and safety across our organisation, so we are incredibly proud to have achieved the Gold benchmark for both 2020 and 2021.”

Managing Director Lisa Kerford commented: “This is a significant accolade for the business, particularly in view of the challenges we have faced during the last 18 months. I would like to commend the Health and Safety department for the outstanding work they have done to safeguard our colleagues and on their leading contribution in this area.

“I would also like to congratulate the whole team for their enthusiasm and dedication to upholding our high standards of health and safety, which has given much needed assurance to clients throughout this period with regard to our continuing safe delivery of high-quality services.

“As the company further expands bringing our services to new customers within the northern and Midlands regions, we will continue to actively promote best practice and seek to drive health and safety standards in line with RoSPA’s exacting criteria.”
