Congratulations to two of our team, Kerry and Alfie, who took part in the Bolton Tough Sleep Out on a wet and windy night in March to raise funds for charity.

Together, with support from family, friends and colleagues, they have managed to raise over £500!

Organised by Bolton Wanderers in the Community in partnership with Bolton Wanderers Football Club and Urban Outreach, the sleep out took place pitchside at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club on Friday 22nd March.

Alfie and Kerry were among 150 members of the local community brave enough to take on the challenge and raise awareness of issues around homelessness.

All funds will go towards supporting the work of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Urban Outreach Bolton, EMMAUS BOLTON and BACKUP North West.

Speaking about the experience, Kerry said:

“It was brilliant and awful in equal parts. It was lovely to see all the people there to support the cause and to hear from the charity leaders, and we were well looked after with hot drinks and food. But it was a long cold night once we settled down, I don’t think either of us got a wink of sleep. It was worth one night to raise the money we have though!”

The total they have raised stands at £545 so far. If you would like to show your support donations can still be made here.

More than £32,000 was raised for local charities overall, surpassing the amount raised last year. Phil Mason, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers in the Community said: “The night and the conditions were a challenge, however it provided everyone with an understanding and insight into the reality of homelessness.” Read more about the event at BWFC Sleepout.
