It’s Gold again for Aptus

We are proud to have maintained our outstanding safety record by achieving a Gold Medal in the internationally renowned Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards. The award celebrates the company’s fifth consecutive Gold Achievement Award following assessment of our health and safety performance in 2023. Entering the awards demonstrates to our workforce and customers that the welfare and safety of people is at the forefront of our business and allows Aptus to benchmark safety performance year on year, ensuring consistency across all our sites and offices.

The award looks at all aspects of health and safety, from strategy, communication and training to the processes we have in place to ensure our workforce is fully competent to fulfil their roles. Ongoing education around raising awareness of physical health and wellbeing, mental health, driver safety and other essential areas also ensures that our efforts to support employees and their families extends well
beyond the workplace.

A huge amount of work has gone into maintaining our RoSPA gold status over the last five years. Since 2020, our comprehensive Health and Safety Strategy has transformed the way we lead and deliver our Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) programme.

We have also established dedicated Safety Committees which have strengthened engagement with our HSQE programme and initiatives, and encouraged new ideas and suggestions to improve our processes, procedures and performance.

We are delighted to have rewarded several colleagues through our Recognition and Rewards Scheme, which celebrates individual contributions to health and safety.

As part of our efforts to promote best practice we regularly share our health and safety learnings among our colleagues and contractor partners, and each year have a company-wide safety stand-down which is an opportunity to reinforce everyone’s role in our HSQE programme.

We are honoured to be part of the global RoSPA community who are dedicated to shaping safer, healthier workplaces and keeping people safe from accidental harm and injury.

A massive thank you to our HSQE department for their leadership and to our whole team for their continued commitment to deliver our high standards.

HSQE manager, Delicia Maxwell, said:

Congratulations to the whole team on achieving the RoSPA Gold Medal, which demonstrates the fantastic engagement and participation in our Safety Values across our organisation.

Health and Safety is at the heart of our business and we will continue to focus on ways we can promote our Aptus Safety Values within our culture to drive improvement and reward our colleagues for positive safety behaviour.
