Aptus has marked another milestone by welcoming a new group of apprentices to the multi utility apprenticeship programme, which is being run in back-to-back years for the first time.
Eight apprentices joined this September, including our first three Midlands recruits. The group forms our fifth intake since 2015, reflecting the company’s commitment to investing in and developing talent.
The apprentices spent a full day at head office being inducted and kitted out with PPE ready for training at Utility and Construction Training (UCT), where they will spend the first few weeks gaining essential skills and health and safety knowledge before joining our teams on site.
Aptus launched its bespoke multi utility apprenticeship training programme to address the industry’s skills crisis by growing our own talent. The 2-year apprenticeship programme has been developed with Manchester based Utility & Construction Training (UCT) and leads to an NVQ Level 2 Gas Network Operative qualification with additional qualifications in Gas and Water Mains laying.
Our award-winning apprenticeships provide a fantastic route into a career with our growing and ambitious company. The new team members will play a key role in helping us to achieve our growth ambitions by ensuring we have the skilled workforce to meet demand.
We’re delighted to have our new recruits on board and wish them all the best of luck in their apprenticeship journey!
